So I thought I should document Cash's birth story before its been too long and I have forgotten everything.
Cash was due on Friday, August 26 and on thursday the day before the doctor did her "magic"at the office, hoping I would go into labor soon, in the next 48 hrs. Well Friday came and I had been having consistent contractions all evening, not too strong but when I went to bed that night I thought for sure I would be going to the hospital, all through the night contractions but by 6:00 in the morning, nothing. We then went to Taber Cornfest on saturday and between all the walking and the blazing hot heat I thought this would get me into labor... the pressure was killing me. By Sunday morning the contractions started again and by noon we were on our way to the hospital in Lethbridge, but half way there the contractions weren't as strong anymore and were only 10 min apart so we decided to go get lunch and take a walk hoping that might help. By 3:00pm we were on our way home with still no baby. I was beyond frustrated, the pressure from getting stripped on thursday and all the contractions all weekend was enough!! I decided I wasn't going to the hospital until I was in ALOT of pain. Well Sunday evening came and by 7:00 the contractions were very consistent and pretty painful, but I was going to wait it out. Jeremy decided that I was NOT going to go into labor today since it had been happening all weekend and so he put a pie in the oven at 8:30 and invited my parents and aunt and uncle over..even though I kept telling him this is it! By the time we were all eating pie my contractions were 5 minutes apart and very painful. Finally everyone is like "Go to the hospital!" But I wanted to wait it out a little bit longer. By 10:00 Jeremy said " Let's go, I don't want to deliver this baby in my truck!"
So we headed out and I was dying, I had never had contractions this strong with my other baby's. I kept telling Jeremy to hurry. When we got to the hospital they checked me and I was 5-6cm dilated and they prepared the delivery room. I asked for an epidural and was sooo worried I wasn't going to be able to get one. But they called the guy and he took his sweet time getting there.. I was 8cm when I finally got the epidural and literally thought I was going to die! The nurse said I had the longest contractions and it sure felt like it. Once the epidural kicked in, I was in sweet heaven!!! I kept telling the guy how much I loved him and seriously could't imagine why someone wouldn't get the epidural if they could. I just kept saying "Best thing ever!!" We then watched "Friday Night Lights" on Jer's laptop and for the next 2 hrs waited for sweet baby Cash to come. I can't even begin to imagine how much that would have sucked to have been in all that pain for 2 more hours if I wasn't able to get the epidural, oh wait yes I can, remember Elias?? lets not think about that.
So about 1:50, Dr.Adolf said I think its time and just when I start pushing all the drugs are gone and I can feel everything, Yikes! Seriously beyond pain, but 20 minutes later we have a beautiful baby boy!

awe Rachelle! I wanted to visit you in the hospital. I wanted to hold your sweet baby. I wanted to bring you dinner. I wanted to steal your big boys for days at a time. I wanted to bring you blankets and burp cloths. There is so much I wanted to do for you but you are too far away. Good thing your family is close to do all of those things for you. Cant wait to meet this little man!
