Chicken Pox and Mother's Day

Yup! The Cooper boys were plagued with the Chicken Pox. First Elias got them and it wasn't too bad, he was a bit itchy but was a trooper and didn't complain too much. For a week we dealt with that and then two weeks later both Nixon and then Cash got them and that was NOT fun. Nixon was pretty good too there were only a few days where he got a fever and was really itchy, but he wasn't too bad either. Then my sweet baby boy got them and he had more than double what the other boys had. There were about three nights where I had NO sleep and was up with him, it was miserable. I felt soooo bad, they were so red and big and his poor little back was covered. He had a lot of oatmeal baths and lots of aveeno relief lotion but he was still very sad. Well, to say it was a long three weeks was an understatement, I didn't leave the house, Elias wasn't at school for over a week and we missed church three times. But now it's over and done with and I am happy they won't get it again
Cash having yet another oatmeal bath to soothe all his chicken pox, poor baby.

Then it was mother's day and I had the best time. That week I went to Elias' Kindergarten class for a special mother's day program. It was so cute.

Me and my sweet boy at his Mother's Day program.
All the kids wrote a little something about their mom it was hilarious! Elias' is #12 and I laughed and laughed about him describing me, especially on how to get to the cabin, so cute!

All the kids drew pictures of their mom's and we had to try and guess which one was our child's. I was sooo off, can you tell why? I am pretty sure this looks nothing like me, at least I am glad I am not fat or I really would have been embarrassed. I think he was trying to emphasize how much I like the colour purple.. haha isn't it the cutest thing, look how huge I am?? He said he was drawing a picture of me cooking in our trailer. I love it and had to make sure I copied it.

Jer also made mother's day very special by making my favorite breakfast and gave me a sweet fondue set, it kinda looks like a Scentsy. It's sweet and we had fun with it for breakfast. The boys also picked out beautiful roses for me. All in all I felt pretty special and loved.

Both Nixon and Cash still had chicken pox, so just me and Elias went to church on Mother's day and we got a cute picture together. We also headed out to Raymond to see Jeremy's mom as well.

Playing catch up: Easter

Of course I am behind what else is new. Things have been busy around here, were finishing up some renos, speaking up renos I still need to do a before and after of what we have done so far in this house. Besides that we have been busy trying to get our lawn in order and over the past 3 weeks chicken pox has plagued our house, first Elias and then the 2 boys, Yikes! More to come on that. I still have updates from some of our trips over the past few months coming soon but for now I will post some pics from Easter. This year I tried to focus on the Savior more and less on the treats, but of course we still had treats. We also met up with The Cooper family in Cardston for a picnic, easter egg hunt and rolled eggs down the hill, all in all lots of fun.

And to finish off everyone threw eggs down the big hill, the seagulls were going crazy!
The boys loved this, but it only took about 2 min for 16 eggs to be gone.

turning three

Nixon turned three this month, on March 4th. Nixon decided he wanted a Toy Story birthday party this year. We had over some cousins and close friends to celebrate his special day. Too bad he wasn't feeling his best, at the start of the party he was feeling really sick, just wanted me and didn't participate in the games at all. But the tylenol kicked in by the time he opened presents and blew out his candle so he was happy. He got some sweet gifts and has been enjoying them tons. He was especially excited about getting "Woody" from Nana and "Buzzlightyear" from us. He has been sleeping with them every night since.

Nixon, you are truly a momma's boy still and secretly I love all your million snuggles and wanting to be with me all the time. You are the loudest little boy on the planet, but also the cutest! You make me smile everyday, you are very creative and so smart. You can also be very timid and have a sensitive heart, but you defiantly know what you want and tend to get it to with those big blue eyes. Happy Birthday my sweet boy, you are growing much too fast for me.
i love you most- Mom :)

six months

Cash_5mths 2012

Cash is 6 months already. He is moving all over the place, rolling like crazy and pulling and shifting himself to get around, he is already into shelves and even popped right out of the bumbo chair that I had sitting on the island, I almost died, good thing I caught him in time! No doubt he is my most active and will be full out crawling this month. Both Elias and Nixon didn't move this much at 6 months so Cash is my earliest crawler. He also started eating solids, it took a good couple weeks for him to like much of anything he tasted but he now enjoying it and we love having him be a part of family dinner. He looks so darn cute and big sitting in his highchair. He's already starting to sleep better through the night and I am now down to feeding him right before I head to bed, but he still wakes up sometimes in the night for his soother. I was in the process of sleep training him so Pinterest was my best friend at 3 in the morning as I sat by his crib with my phone sshhing him back to sleep barley holding on due to lack of sleep. He's doing way better, at least I am not feeding 2 or 3 times a night and soon I hope he won't be waking up at all, even for his soother. Cash really had me wrapped around his finger at night, I just couldn't let him cry and he was sick for quite a while and being paranoid with what happened to Nixon I would always bring him into bed with me so Yes it was all my fault, but since I have been tackling the sleep training I am not quite as crazy due to lack of sleep.
Cash really is the light in our family, he is So happy all the time. People always ask if he is always so smiley and yes he is! His smile is contagious and the boys are always battling for his attention and constantly in his face trying to make his smile. Cash looks more like Elias, same perfectly round head, little nose and big blue eyes. He does have his own look, but is a good mix of both boys. He actually looks a bit like me when I was little too.

             Elias @3.5mths                              Cash @6mths                               Nixon @ 6mths
When I first pulled out this sleeper I remembered having pictures of both Elias and Nixon in it and so I decided to do a comparison. Elias was so big at 3.5months this sleeper was tight and Cash fits just right at 6 months and Nixon at 6 months was a little baggie. I love this comparison, they really each have there own look.
Cash at 6 months:
1st stages of Crawling, moving and pulling self all over.
Introduced solids, loves it.
Not quite sitting up on his own, still pretty wobbly.
No teeth yet either, both Elias and Nixon had teeth by now.
Sleeps through the night without eating, well 10:30 tell 7:30 (most nights)YEA!!

Here are some pics over the last few months of our sweet Cash.

the last of 2011

Christmas Card 2011
Before I continue on into 2012 I just had to post a few pics from Christmas, really it's so long ago already, but it had to be posted. Here is our sweet Christmas card this year, I was lazy this year and didn't send that many out, plus I didn't care too much either since it was kinda ghetto. But I had to post for Jer's stache alone on our card is worth it, he refused to shave it off so here it is and actually its already fun looking back on it. This will be one of those Christmas cards for years to come that we will love, due to the sweet stache. So it had to be posted and had to be included in my blog book. Also these of the boys too, I will be forever grateful to Mike Kurtz for making a special Santa stop to our house. We missed Santa coming to the Library in Barnwell by mere minutes, because of missed communication between me and Jer and to say the boys were sad was an understatement, so we ended up having to take them to the mall after all. But when Mike Kurtz heard that we barely missed him he called me and said he would make a special stop at our house for the boys. I cannot tell you how excited their faces were as they saw Santa walk past our window and up our sidewalk. I mean what kids get a visit to their HOME from Santa? It was so special! I actually think they were more happy about the treat bags he brought than anything, ha.

So done! Onto the New Year and to note, New Years Resolution: be on top of blog!
